Boggy

Boggy
BUDGE (Bugge, Boggy)
The 16th century term for lamb's wool skins with the fur dressed outwards and used then to border scholars' gowns and liveries. Budge Row, London, obtained its name, says Stow, because of the budge skinners living there. The hood of the B.A. degree is still ornamented with this fur.
